Word of mouth marketing is undoubtedly one of the most cost efficient and effective ways an Advice business can gain more clients. But how do you increase the chance of an existing client talking about you? There are a million and one ways to achieve that! Today, I’d like to share just one of those with you!
Random acts of kindness. If you follow me, have heard me present or read my blogs, you’ll know that I don’t subscribe to the notion of giving gifts to those that introduce a new client to your business – it’s awkward and not necessary, a simple thank you is though.
What I’d like to suggest in this post is buying your client a gift when it’s appropriate, when it’s not expected, as a pure act of kindness. Can you imagine the delight on anyone’s face when they are given a small gift. Let me tell you what I am thinking. Imagine you have a client who is off on a cruise or a holiday of some sort. Wouldn’t it be a lovely idea to buy them a book [or similar]for them to take away – totally not expected = random act of kindness! Increases word of mouth marketing.
Perhaps a client is taking an exam soon – a foot massage. A house refurbished – a vase. The idea is that we demonstrate that we are listening to our clients and show a bit of personality. I’m not suggesting you have to do this for all your clients [unless you only have a few] what I am suggesting is that you do some random things that clients don’t expect that will delight them and give them another reason to talk about you.
Top of mind = tip of tongue… but you need to keep top of mind for that to happen!
What do you do to keep top of mind that shows you care?
