How to Answer “Have You Been Busy?”

How to Answer “Have You Been Busy?”

questionHave you noticed over time how our greeting to each other has changed? “Are you busy?” is just one example, another is “What’s happening?” that one drives me personally mad! But how you answer those questions, or similar, can be the perfect opportunity to once again explain what it is you do rather than “Yeah really busy and you?”

I was chatting to an Adviser the other day and he explained how changing his response to that one question resulted in him getting more work. Why? What did he say?

He simply replied by saying “Yes, I’ve just finished a fairly complex buy sell agreement for a small business in town”

Now you could answer with whatever you have been working on perhaps, but this Adviser had just finished working on a complex buy sell agreement and when he explained that, the other person was extremely intrigued and said “I’ve got some clients who are small business owners, would they need buy sell agreements too?” and the magic then happened!

Next time someone asks you “Have you been busy?” tell them yes but explain in a really short version that you’ve been busy doing what?!

Simple strategy I know but another highly effective way to get your message across again.

Feel free to share this simple idea with others, the share buttons are below! Thank you

Rachel has a very personable manner about her which is very refreshing. I have found Rachel to be very approachable and she has integrated her expertise into our business, it is just like having a specialist marketing manager in house. I would highly recommend Rachel within the Financial Services industry as she understands what it takes to succeed in this very niche industry.
