As a qualified coach I know the importance of taking action because I know that action leads to implementation which leads to results which leads to success so, I’ve never been able to understand the slow reaction times of some Financial Advisers when they are confronted with a problem, for example, not attracting the right type of clients. Too much time is spent worrying about it and trying to figure out who’s problem it is when they should know it’s theirs! I met an Adviser this morning who inspired me to write this post because he gets it, he understands that unless he takes some action, he’ll never create the business he set out to do so, to him, I say thank you (I think you know who you are!).
For others reading this that perhaps need to take some action – do it, now rather than later. Right now, turn it around. Act as if your life depended on it. Take massive action, not ordinary action and make it happen.
For one month treat every marketing problem as the best opportunity you have to improve your business right now and get onto it.
Don’t delay because it’s hard or unfamiliar or you think you don’t know how to do it.
If you don’t like your SOA’s do something about it.
Have the difficult conversations.
Get rid of non performing staff. Stop using the marketing strategy that has never given you a client. Stop waiting for the referral partner to give you a referral because they haven’t for the last 6 months. Get new ones.
Start charging the fees you wanted and stop discounting your value.
Start calling your clients more because they want to hear from you.
Re-connect with people who haven’t heard from you for a while.
Write a system so your next client seminar or webinar goes according to plan.
Write your marketing communications calendar so that you commit to doing what you dreamed of. Slot in an activity every month.
Call your favorite product provider and get them to create something innovative for your business. Get them to pay for some of your marketing.
Start using LinkedIn properly, like you’ve been told time and time again – dedicate 10 minutes per day.
Solve it now. Right now. Urgency. Then write a process so that next time someone else can solve it or better still it never happens again or happens automatically.
Question for you “Where do you need to get urgent right now in your business?”
